Hello King’s Way Families,

Yes, it’s that time again! Has anyone has seen Mt Hood lately? It’s covered with fresh snow and it’s got me thinking ski & snowboard season is right around the corner!!!!

Our program starts the first Saturday in January, 2019 and runs for 4 consecutive Saturdays up to Mt. Hood Meadows. There will be no February bus this year.

King’s Way Ski Bus is a great opportunity to ski or snowboard while hanging out with your friends! This will be my 13th season taking students up to Mt. Hood Meadows. If your kids have friends or relatives from other schools that are interested, they can join too!

Never been skiing or snowboarding, but would like to learn? No problem, Meadows has a program for everyone. Beginner packages are affordable and an excellent way to learn.

A typical Saturday looks like this: We take a Blue Star transportation bus that departs promptly from Kings Way Christian School at 6:15am and returns, depending on weather and traffic conditions, around 6pm. Middle school or high school students can buy their lunch in the lodge or bring a lunch from home, plus they can ski or board with their friends all day. If participants need to rent equipment, we make sure to get the students to the rental area, help with getting gear on and if needed we get them to where they need to start their 1st lesson! Rental lockers are available for a cost to stow backpacks/lunch etc. I typically break for lunch at noon and can be found in the Sno-Blasters (elementary students) area. I always try to make contact with all the students at some point in the day. We return back to the bus at approximately 3:30 with a departure time of 4pm.

WALK ON RIDERS are ages MS/HS that wants to join us for one day, all walk on programs are sold by age not grade. If you need a day ticket or have a season pass, need rental or have your own gear….we can accommodate you. Does not apply to Sno-blasters.

Ask me for more details.

In addition to the Middle School and High School programs, the SnoBlaster program is offered for kids grades 1-5. Sno-blaster’s are in a safe, supervised, and fun environment from the time they get on the bus until we return back to school for drop off. They receive (2) 2 hour lessons with their instructor, the first one is from 10-12am then from 12-1 they break for lunch (sack lunch from home) or new this year is the meadows buffet for an added fee when signing up, then they return back out to the slopes for their 2nd lesson from 1-3. Sno-blasters receive their equipment right where they hang out all day, no juggling from one area to the next! They are always monitored by their ski instructor plus a chaperone from KW.
